Since I abandoned the Halloween decorations for a week... or two. I thought, well, I definitely need something else now!
StumbleUpon had answered my call. As I was just looking through spamming that stumble button over and over, I came across a seriously cool art project. This person, I assume woman let's say Pat works both ways, was reusing old Nintendo Controllers. I'm talking A B and directional pad iconic controllers. What Pat had done was taken the cord and made an iconic video game character out of them. Such as a Goomba, Link, Mario and so forth.
I have an old original XBOX controller, I thought. I could do that, I thought.
Well it was a big pain in the ass.
For 1 thing, Master Chief is a total drag to draw. He is totally symmetrical which made half of it super accurate and the other half like a monkey threw it's shit on my paper.
But I recovered! After wasting *super expensive* sheet of glossy picture paper [Epson 13x19] it's a card stock almost I drew his awesome amazing helmet.
Tada! I was like, oh look out we got a badass over here! Got over myself and continued forth! I heated up my, ahem, Borrowed hot glue gun and started to lay out the cord of ye olde controller cord. I knew I didn't have NEARLY enough to trace the whole thing out, details and whatnot, so what to do, what to do...
This is what I did. =D

Yep! I sat there, staring at a black and white Master Chief. Say whhaaat?? I also had the problem of some seriously ugly Hot glue gun blobs, which I tried to fix up by running the metal tip over them. So I thought that some black glitter glue that might cover it up! I'd follow the cord around and had this caulking type plan in my head.
...it didn't work. I regret it going on the paper almost instantly. But I'll be damned if I trash this after bending, burning and planning that damn cord. So I go with it and grab my trusty paint brush. I feel it's important to mention I've outlined the details that the cord didn't go over with black marker, washable to be exact. So I'm adding this glue around all of M.C and BAM the marker friggin bleeds everywhere. I'm just shattered, about to give up when the maker bleeding color is this off green color.

JOKES ON YOU PROJECT! M.C IS GREEN!!! I was thrilled, I took this as an opportunity and just went nuts. I moved the glue stuff around until it was more of a low light, shadows or something and the green tinted enough to make M.C look real gritty.
Light bulb appeared. +1 to awesome. I have this handy dandy bottle of bleach cleaner and was thought, this oughtta be cool and bam! hit it with a touch of the stuff to kind of moving the marker shit around and glue and everything. (Lots of ands, sorry!) Satisfied on the actual piece now... finally, I reach a new problem, how the eff am I going to hang this?
Box lid + hot glue = Cheap picture hanging. Not only did it have the strength to hold the controller on the paper, it looks awesome popped out of the wall a little bit. I had a suction-cup hanger and just removed the hook from that, stuck it on the box and nailed it to the wall! All of a sudden I have a freaking AWESOME work of Halo art.
I now feel awesome watching X-Play.
Finished piece!
Super excited how this turned out and glad it's over too! Hope this inspired you to create something just awesomely geeky today :)
Stay Awesome. Ghost Hunt.
